1029 All Star Cast with Understudy

 Can you tell who is eager for Spring and all the blooming flowers?  There are a few crocuses and snowdrops in my neighborhood, but no narcissuses yet.  I bought a bunch of yellow daffodils at the grocery store and improvised on the different types.  The pitcher is a new favorite!

 I really enjoy birdwatching in Florida, where the birds are so different from birds in the north.

1027 On the Brink

 Well, it was inevitable.  Just when I finished painting this, the cups came crashing down.  Four cups were casualties, including my favorite (third from the top).  I will attempt to piece them together (does that make me "all the king's horses and all the king's men?). I am not optimistic.  Good Will, here I come!

1026 Distant Cousin

 Having a soft spot for black and white stripes and polka dots, I was thrilled to find the two black and white cups and saucers in Florida.  The composition was a bit tricky, but the addition of the die made me feel better about it.

These nest paintings, and others are in preparation for Edgewood Orchard Galleries opening exhibit and sale called Taking Flight.  They are lots of fun to paint and are a perfect size at 6 x 6" x 1 1/2"d to place in a small space, a book shelf or table top, although they do have hanging wires on them.  Only 1022 is framed.

1021 Does It Spark Joy?

 

My new teapot makes a repeat appearance !  This set up took forever to compose with too many different characters auditioning for supporting actor.  Sometimes the composition is the most difficult aspect of the painting.  

Did you make the connection between the title and the book that is featured?  It is Marie Kondo's book, the life-changing magic of tidying up.    Marie would have a field day in my studio.
