560 Sprite

My second (really the third) painting of Lake Fanny Hoe, Copper Harbor, Michigan is (surprise) painted in oil paints, my first real oil painting.  It is too wet to move and photograph, so maybe tomorrow it will appear. 

In the meantime, I continue with the blue and white bowls with endless possibilities, and so far, I have not tired of painting them.

554, Encore, In the Limelight

553 Citrus in the Limelight

I will be curious to see if I like this still life better with my usual dramatic lighting.  I do like the way the bowl is the star in this painting.

The grocery shopper in the family wonders where his produce disappears to.  (smile)

540 Mixed Company

This is most likely the end of the Meyer lemons.  I like the combination of the limes with the lemons in my favorite bowl.

424 Two Plus One Times Two

I really enjoy setting up these still lifes with reflections.  For every painting, there are so many crazy set ups that just don't cut it.

412 Outcast

Once again, yellow is not my friend.  It doesn't scan or photograph well.  The lemon on the right is not as orange as it appears on my monitor.  I enjoyed setting up the still life and painting it.  The bowl is a favorite, hand made by a local artist,  Jean Smaglik Wells.  I have several of her beautiful pieces.
