1198. The Meaning of Life

The concept of Wabi-Sabi has always intrigued me, as I have a fondness for old, worn, imperfect items, which I know have meaningful beauty and hidden stories. I live near elevated trains and the patterns of the rusty supports always sends a little surge through me. Chipped and weathered paint sends me to the moon.

This piece, The Meaning of Life is the first piece where I worked directly on the cradled board. OMG. I've been deprived until now!! It was so much fun, and even the sounds of the scraping and sanding were delights.

1197. Secret Hideaway

Continuing on with the same basic palette as previous painting, this was more of a challenge. I do love the colors and am sure they will have an important part in future paintings.

1196. Pretty Please

I really love this painting.  It is calming and joyful and it told me when it was finished.

1195. Riley

Riley was our friends' sweet dog who sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge before Christmas.  She was so gentle, and loved to play with her friends and to chase wildlife.  Her family misses her.
