1218. Blue Skies and Wheat Fields

 I was commissioned to paint a companion piece to 1152. More Prayers For Peace (middle photo), which was inspired by and painted during the early days of the war in Ukraine.  Blue and yellow, always a winning combination, take on a more meaningful interpretation as colors of the Ukrainian flag represent the color of the sky and the wheat fields of Ukraine.

1153. More Prayers for Peace

I'm not sure this is finished, but I'm going to post it anyway and then look at it for a few days.  I've had Ukraine on my mind and felt I wanted to try a blue and yellow painting.  I even managed to locate another Pray For Peace postage stamp in my stash.  

Regarding 1152. As It So Happens, I finally found my favorite orientation, with help from my trusty husband (he is my best and most honest painting critic, surprisingly because he's color blind).

974 Sunflower Polka

This is another painting inspired by a splat of black paint.  I added more polka dots for drama.  I thought the sunflowers look like they are dancing, except for the stuffy one who is sitting it out.

906 Market Sunflowers

I love going to the Farmers' Market and hate to see it end in late October.  The flowers are always so fresh and bring me so much joy.  The birds ate all my sunflowers on my rooftop garden, but that's okay.

591 Spring Has Sprung

I have missed painting blue bowls, but have looked forward to this day when the forsythias are in bloom and can add them to the still life.

109. Market Bouquet, Long Lasting

Although all the other flowers are withered and gone, the sunflowers and statice are still fresh and beautiful on this 6th day after purchase.
